Hello,

I’m Jessie, and the idea for Support in Motion came from my own personal journey through grief, trauma, and the search for healing. After a traumatic delivery that led to an emergency hysterectomy and the loss of my newborn, I faced the overwhelming emotional and physical challenges of traumatic grief, PTSD, and recovery.

In my healing process, I found peace and a way to process my emotions in nature and movement—whether it was through walking, yoga, baking, painting, or landscaping—especially when words were hard to find.

Support in Motion was created as an alternative to traditional grief and trauma support groups. While talk-based groups offer valuable resources, they don’t resonate with everyone. Many are held in clinical environments, like hospitals, which can be tied to the pain of loss and trauma, or take place online, where something vital often feels missing. Instead, Support in Motion provides a different path to healing—through movement, shared experiences, and low-pressure gatherings that integrate support into daily life.

Our Approach

Healing isn’t just about words; sometimes, movement and activity provide the space we need to process emotions when talking feels impossible.

Support in Motion offers activity-based support groups that foster healing, connection, and growth—without the pressure of traditional roundtable-style discussions or virtual meetings.

Through walks in nature, therapeutic yoga, creative expression, and other hands-on activities, participants can connect with others who “get it” in an environment that feels natural and supportive. Whether you choose to share your story, listen, or simply take part in the activity, there is no expectation—just a welcoming space to heal at your own pace.

Movement as Healing
We incorporate physical movement, whether it’s walking, yoga, or creative activities, to support emotional processing.

Low-Pressure, No Expectations
There’s no obligation to talk, share, or follow a structured discussion format.

Designed with Sensitivity
Our gatherings are mindful of participants’ needs and potential triggers. For example, meetups for parents navigating infant loss take place in areas infrequently visited by young families.

Community Without Formality
Our support comes through shared experiences, not structured meetings.
